The Central Election Commission (CEC) approved the draft through which the preterm parliamentary elections on 29 July 2009 were considered valid.<\/p>\n

According to the final election data presented by the CEC in its sitting on August 4, the PCRM will hold 48 seats in the 18th legislation Parliament, PLDM – 18, PL – 15, PDM – 13 and AMN – 7.<\/p>\n

Thereby, the CEC approved the minutes on the summary results of the parliamentary elections on July 29, and on Friday, August 7, it will be submitted to the Constitution al Court, for the scrutiny to be validated by the constitutional body.<\/p>\n

CEC chair, Eugeniu Stirbu, mentioned in a CEC sitting, that the preterm scrutiny is considered valid, taking into consideration that 1 591 757 citizens voted, which accounts for 58.5% or more than 1\/3 of the total number of voters.<\/p>\n

In the context, Stirbu also said that 2 720 882 citizens with the right to vote were registered on the election lists for the elections on July 29.<\/p>\n

In its sitting, the CEC also approved the exclusion of the parties that gained less than 5% of the valid votes expressed in the parliamentary elections on July 29, in order to accede in the 18th legislation Parliament.
