Political leaders are split on the "Barometer of public opinion" poll unveiled today. Some have said the data confirmed the tendencies in society, while others believe that the survey was conducted at the ruling Communists’ order.<\/p>\n

Grigore Petrenco, a Communist candidate said: "We are much more optimistic about our results at the [29 July snap] parliamentary election."<\/p>\n

According to the survey, the Communist Party would win 31.1 per cent of the vote; for results. <\/p>\n

"If the Our Moldova Alliance [AMN], and this is already clear, makes it to parliament and participates in the future government, I will make an appeal of honour to Arcadie Barbarosie [the executive director of the Institute for Public Policies which carried out the poll] so that he and his team gives up conducting opinion polls in the future," said Serafim Urechean, captioned as leader of the Our Moldova Alliance. <\/p>\n

The survey showed that the AMN would not clear the electoral threshold, getting 2.6 per cent of the vote.<\/p>\n

Dorin Chirtoaca, deputy leader of the Liberal Party: "The Communist Party’s popularity rating is continuously falling, while that of the opposition is permanently increasing. This is the tendency in society and this is very good.
\n[Vlad Filat, captioned as leader of the Liberal Democratic Party] As concerns the sociologists who unveiled the survey today, I publicly invite them to come on 29 July to take delight in the results we are going to have."<\/p>\n

"We are glad that the survey gives us about 10 per cent. The Democratic Party is conducting its own survey, according to which the party will come second in the election, stated Dumitru Diacov, honorary chairman of the Democratic Party.
