The Moldova One public television has begun debates ahead of the 29 July snap parliamentary election, the Moldovan television reported on 9 July.<\/p>\n

The television will organize three election debates daily from 16:40 to 17:10, from 18:40 to 19:10 and from 19:30 to 20:10 (all times local). No debates will be broadcast on Saturday or Sunday. The order of contenders’ participation in the debates has been established by draw.<\/p>\n

The pattern of debates remained the same as during the campaign for the 5 April ballot. Each debate is attended by two representatives of two parties or by independent candidates running for parliament. Each participant has 11 minutes to present the election platform of his\/her party and answer questions from the presenter focused on a specific issue. They also have one minute at the end to address TV viewers.<\/p>\n

The first election debate organized by Moldova One was attended by the deputy leader of the opposition Liberal Party, Anatol Salaru, and the leader of the minor National Liberal Party, Vitalia Pavlicenco. The issue proposed by the presenter was the economic situation in Moldova and ways to attract foreign investment.<\/p>\n

The public Radio Moldova launched election debates on 9 July too. The pro-opposition Vocea Basarabiei (Bessarabia’s Voice) radio station kicked off debates on 30 June.
