Romanian president, Traian Basescu, declared on Wednesday in Athens, capital of Greece, that the Republic of Moldova should be received in the European Union as soon as possible. <\/p>\n

In Athens, Traian Basescu spoke about ‘the need that the Union takes into account the Treaty from Lisbon as soon possible, both for the good work of EU, as well as for the creation of premises of the resumption of the extension process, referring mainly to West Balkans, as well as the option of Romania that Republic of Moldova be introduced in the package of West Balkan countries, that will enter the EU’. <\/p>\n

Traian Basescu made this declaration at the end of his official discussion with his Greek counterpart, Karolos Papoulias.
