In addition, parliament initially allowed people to get the citizenship of other states, after which it imposed restrictions, he said. The Constitutional Court said that any sovereign and independent state has the right to impose certain conditions on its citizens, regardless of their status, be it a deputy, judge or civilians, for security reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) recommended that Moldova should amend or cancel the provision barring people with dual citizenship from certain state offices.
