China provides National Army with equipment worth about five million lei<\/strong>, some $445,000.<\/strong><\/p>\n

China has provided the National Army with a non-refundable assistance in computers worth three million yuani (about five million lei). The reception\/delivery document was signed by acting Defence Minister Vitalie Vrabie and Chinese Ambassador to Moldova Shi Longzhuang on Thursday. <\/p>\n

Shi Longzhuang said the donation proves once again the good cooperation relations between the two states in different fields, including the military one. <\/p>\n

‘The Chinese government is willing to give the necessary support to Moldova’s National Army to implement different projects carried out within the military reform, including by offering education scholarships to Moldovan servicemen in specialized academic institutions from China,’ the Chinese diplomat stressed. <\/p>\n

Vitalie Vrabie specified that the set of computers given by China’s government will be used to improve the national mobilisation system. <\/p>\n

‘Although the armies of Moldova and China [differ from each other] in numerical terms, the relations between them, as well as between the two states, are developing according to the principle of equality and mutual respect,’ Vitalie Vrabie said at the event. <\/p>\n

The Moldovan official thanked the Chinese side for support, and voiced confidence that the friendship relations between the two peoples will further develop. <\/p>\n

The Moldovan-Chinese military collaboration is carried out in line with an agreement between the defence ministries of the two states signed in Beijing on 23 June 2002. Under the document, in 2002-2004, China provided the National Army with two non-refundable aid worth about ten million yuani, made up of computers, equipment and medical outfit.
