He also accused the authorities of maltreating the youths arrested in the wake of the mass riots.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The youths decided to participate in peaceful protest rallies because they realized that their future is being stolen. But the Communists took advantage of the rallies in order to compromise the very idea of protests,&quot; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Chirtoaca stated that all regimes which resort to crimes finish in a lamentable way.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The history of the Communist regime will end in the same way because God sees everything,&quot; Chirtoaca said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Chirtoaca, the youths are scared after the latest arrests, therefore, many of them decided not to participate in today&#8217;s rally. &quot;But they still pin hope on a European future for their country&quot;, he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Chisinau mayor called on protesters to gather evidence about every case when citizens are being maltreated in order to be able to later sue the Communists, including in international courts.<\/p>\n<p>Chirtoaca called on the authorities to stop maltreating the youths in police commissariats and to release all the arrested people.<\/p>\n<p>Infotag&#8217;s note: About 10,000 people are protesting in Chisinau&#8217;s central square against the arrest of hundreds of people who participated in the April 7 mass riots.
