The Central Election Commission decided to allow the Coalition 2009 representatives to make copies of voters’ lists from the Chisinau municipality. <\/p>\n

Based on CEC decision # CEC8\/617 of April 11th, 2009, a team of 6 accredited observers of Coalition 2009 started to make copies of voters’ lists from the Chisinau polling stations. At the moment there is no indication of how many registers can be photocopied\/scanned and how much time the CEC will allow for that procedure.<\/p>\n

On April 10th, 2009, the Civic Coalition for Free and Fair Elections – “Coalition 2009” sent to the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Moldova a request (registered by CEC with # CEC7\/1325) soliciting access to voters’ lists, including to the supplementary ones. The Coalition asked about the possibility to make photocopies of the lists from all polling stations of the Chisinau municipality. The request was sent based on article 63 of Election Code and Law on Access to Information # 982-XIV adopted on 11th of May 2000.<\/p>\n

Coalition 2009 declares that an independent check-up and analysis of voters’ lists may bring clarity regarding the allegations made about the multiple voting and will verify the accuracy of the lists used in parliamentary elections held on April 5th, 2009.<\/p>\n

Coalition 2009 had more than 2100 domestic observers accredited to monitor the parliamentary elections. In order to make photocopies of voters’ lists, the Coalition is planning to involve those accredited observers.<\/p>\n
