The Chisinau Court of Appeal made a decision in favour of the Moldovan Communist Party (PCRM), after the latter had sued the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) for warning the electoral competitor for not including expenses related to the issuing of the party’s newspaper in the financial report.<\/p>\n

Contacted by BASA-press, the representative of PCRM to CEC Sergiu Sirbu stated that the court cancelled the CEC’s decision considering it to be groundless and stated that PCRM included all the expenses spent on electoral materials in the financial reports. „The CEC was in haste and failed to examine the case thoroughly.” Sirbu has said.<\/p>\n

The petition urging the CEC to examine whether the PCRM’s report included the expenses which would reflect the print costs of the newspaper „Comunistul” has been submitted by the representative of the Democratic Party to the CEC Andrei Volentir. On 17 March, the CEC warned the PCRM for not including the expenses related to the issuing of this newspaper in the financial reports.<\/p>\n

CEC Secretary Iurie Ciocan, abstained from endorsing a warning decision against the PCRM due to the fact that the party papers are not subject to the Regulations of reflecting the electoral campaign.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
