The Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova on February 3 presented the government program for 2009-2013 and the new composition of the future executive.<\/p>\n

If PLDM wins the election, the Government will be composed of 16 ministries. PLDM proposed liquidating the Ministry of Reintegration, the Ministry of Information Development, the Ministry of Local Public Administration and the Ministry of Construction and Territorial Development and merging the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Finance. It also suggests creating new ministries like the Ministry of Administration, Decentralization and Regional Development, the Ministry of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, the Ministry of Trade and Business, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Energy and Communications, the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Tourism, as well as the Government’s General Secretariat.<\/p>\n

The PLDM leader Vlad Filat will hold the post of Prime Minister, while Alexandru Tanase will be Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice. Lawyer Vitalie Nagacevschi will be Minister of Internal Affairs, while the ASCOM vice president Iurie Leanca will be Foreign Minister.<\/p>\n

The PLDM Government’s major objectives are to join the European Union and to reconstruct and modernize Moldova.<\/p>\n

PLDM will also reform the central state institutions and will insist on the modification of the Constitution as regards the election of the head of state by direct vote and of the MPs on the basis of a joint system – half by uninominal constituencies and half by party lists.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
