Under an emergency ordinance issued by the Government of Romania, the applications for obtaining citizenship must not be published in the Official Gazette anymore. <\/p>\n<p>Also, the Romanian citizenship is granted to persons that lost this citizenship and to their descendents up to the second degree inclusively. Those that have invested over 5 million euros in Romania will obtain citizenship easier. So far, the minimum sum was only 500,000 euros. <img decoding=\"async\" hspace=\"5\" src=\"http:\/\/reporter.md\/images\/news\/GUVERNUL%20ROMANIEI.jpg\" width=\"220\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"5\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In a communiqu&eacute;, the Government of Romania says that as there are final and irrevocable court decisions to grant citizenship to the descendents of the former Romanian citizens, the state decided that the Romanian citizenship can be also granted to persons that lost this citizenship and want to regain it and to their descendents up to the second degree inclusively, by preserving the foreign citizenship. But the applicants should meet a number of requirements such as: be older than 18, show loyalty to the Romanian state by behavior, acts and attitudes, have legal means for a decent living in Romania, not have convictions for offences that make them unworthy of being citizens of Romania. <\/p>\n<p>In addition, there was clarified the situation of the minors that have not been included in the citizenship certificate of the parents even though they obtained Romanian citizenship or have not been issued with the citizenship certificate. In such cases, the parents that are Romanian citizens can ask that the civil status certificates or extracts issued by the foreign authorities be rewritten or included in the Romanian civil status registers. <\/p>\n<p>The list of persons that can obtain Romanian citizenship within reduced terms has been extended.
