The National Liberal Party (PNL) and the European Action Movement (MAE) will take part in the 2009 legislative elections under a joint list. <\/p>\n

At a news conference on November 6, MAE leader Anatol Petrencu said that the chances of the two parties will considerably increase if they join forces. He expressed his confidence that they would pass the election threshold of 6% in the new format. <\/p>\n

Representatives of the two parties said they have not yet decided what party name they will use in elections, but stressed they will organize joint political activities, will work out electoral strategies and will compile a joint national list for the 2009 elections. \"\"<\/p>\n

For her part, the PNL president Vitalia Pavlicenco said they are now conducting talks over cooperation in elections with other parties, among which the Liberal Party (PL), the Our Moldova Alliance Party (AMN), the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and other smaller right-wing parties. <\/p>\n

Pavlicenco said that they resorted to such a measure because this will boost their chances in elections as the people in Moldova vote for those that have greater chances and not according to their principles. <\/p>\n
