I think that the Romania should be included in the negotiation process as it could help find a solution to the conflict,&rdquo; Romanian President Traian Basescu said during a program on TVR1 on Tuesday evening. <\/p>\n<p>Basescu said that if such a format is not possible, there should be established another format in which the European Union could much more actively engage as it is sufficient for the EU and Russia to be arbitrators in Transdniestria. <\/p>\n<p>&rdquo;As the only arbitrator, Russia cannot not give solutions; it comes and proposes the Kozak plan, which was rejected by Chisinau and all the Western states. We cannot accept such solutions. The territorial integrity of Moldova should be preserved,&rdquo; Traian Basescu said. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" hspace=\"5\" src=\"http:\/\/www.reporter.md\/images\/news\/baseaska.jpg\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"5\" alt=\"\" \/>During the same meeting, Basescu spoke about Moldova&rsquo;s aspirations for European integration. &quot;Romania considers that Moldova should get closer to the EU and will propose that it is included in the &ldquo;Western Balkans package&rdquo; at the October EU summit,&rdquo; Basescu said. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;Moldova should not be accepted as an accession candidate together with Ukraine. Ukraine is a large country and a lot of years will pass until it fulfills all the conditions needed to start the accession process, if there is real political will. Moldova wants to join the EU. I talked with President Voronin recently.
