The chairman of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) Eduard Musuc created a new working apparatus that will assist the CMC president in analyzing and assessing the draft decisions. Under the regulations proposed for approval, a sum of 1 million lei would be allocated every year for financing the newly instituted body. <\/p>\n

The decision was passed by the vote of the councilors of the Communist Party (PCRM), the Christian Democratic People’s Party (PPCD), the Humanist Party (PUM) and the Social Democratic Party (PSD) on Thursday evening. <\/p>\n

The Democratic councilors said yet that the reform will lead to the appearance of an administrative ‘filter’ and to the subordination of the divisions and subdivisions to the CMC chairman. <\/p>\n

According to the Liberal Democratic Councilor Alexandru Tanase, the decision can have dangerous consequences and the sum of 1 million lei that is to be allocated to an institution subordinated to the CMC president, who has only the tasks of chairing, calling and setting the agenda of the meetings, is exaggerated. <\/p>\n

At the same meeting, the CMC chairman Eduard Musuc was named as president of the municipal commissions for certifying and authorizing representatives of the public administration in economic associations and for distributing the resources of Chisinau’s reserve fund. The Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca was excluded from the given commissions. <\/p>\n

The councilor of the Liberal Party Corina Fusu said that by the given decisions, Musuc proves incompetence and shows that he does not know the legislation. He wants to be not only chairman of the CMC, but also president of most of the commissions. “After the Communist faction usurped the legislative power and dismissed the CMC chairman Mihai Ghimpu illegally, it now wants to usurp the executive power,” Fusu said. <\/p>\n
