As regards Eduard Musuc&rsquo;s presence at the trial, Ghimpu said that a CMC chairperson can represent the Council only at the Council&#8217;s meetings. &ldquo;He has only three prerogatives: to convene and chair the meetings and to sign the decisions and minutes of the meetings,&rdquo; Ghimpu said. <\/p>\n<p>On June 6, 2008, Mihai Ghimpu was dismissed from the post of CMC chairman by 27 votes. The Social-Democratic councilor Eduard Musuc was appointed instead of him.
