The Liberal Party (PL) accused the Government of Moldova of irrationally and groundlessly using the financial resources allocated in the reserve fund for 2008. <\/p>\n

The party cites the report on the distribution and utilization of the Government’s reserve resources in 2008 made public by the Ministry of Finance. According to the report, the Government over the first five months of this year used up the resources allocated in the reserve fund for the entire 2008. <\/p>\n

PL says that in addition to the 46 million lei from the reserve fund, the Government, headed by the Communist Party of Moldova (PCRM), spent about 16.5 million lei for different purposes that are unjustified, insignificant and discriminatory towards the Moldovan people. <\/p>\n

The party says in a statement that the money was spent on the trips made by senior officials abroad, to carry out activities that are important to PCRM only and on cultural activities. “The state budget clearly stipulates how much money should be spent on cultural activities, while the using up of the financial resources has led to a rise in the internal state debts,” PL says. <\/p>\n
