Grigore Petrenco, the chairman of the parliamentary commission for foreign policy and European integration, is participating in the yearly session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly held in the Kazakh capital of Astana between June 29 and July 3. <\/p>\n

According to the Parliament’s press service, the session is themed “Transparency in the OSCE” and brings together about 270 representatives from 56 OSCE member states. <\/p>\n

The participants will discuss migration-related issues, observers’ missions, human rights, trafficking in human beings, combating of child exploitation and violence against women as well as subjects related to the situation in Afghanistan, Georgia, and Chernobyl. <\/p>\n

The two-year tenure of Goran Lennmarker is coming to an end and there will be elected a new President of the OSCE PA. <\/p>\n

The Astana Declaration will be adopted at the end of the meeting. It will include recommendations on the discussed issues. <\/p>\n

The 2007 session was held in Ukraine, while the 2009 yearly meeting will take place in Lithuania. <\/p>\n
