The secretary of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) Iurie Ciocan believes that in order to change the constitution there aren’t enough 200 thousand signatures of citizens but at least 340 thousand, DECA-press informs.<\/p>\n

      At present the Liberal-Democrat Party from Moldova collects signatures in favour of the modification of the Constitution. The members of the formation intend to file more than 200 000 signatures to CEC till 23 June mentioning that according to the present legislation this is sufficient.<\/p>\n

      Ciocan declared: „ I don’t know where from the number of 200 000 was taken. The article 141 from the Constitution clearly stipulates that for its modification there are necessary the signatures of the citizens from half of the territorial administrative units of II level (The Republic of Moldova has 34 districts) at least 20 000 from each.
