The Central Election Commission (CEC) decided not to include the electoral blocks in ballot papers. At a meeting on May 13, the Commission adjusted an earlier decision regarding the approval of the format of the ballot papers to the amendments introduced by the Parliament to Electoral Code on April 10. <\/p>\n

The given amendments ban the political parties of Moldova from creating electoral blocks in elections.
\nCEC also decided that the number order of the constituency in the new ballot papers will be indicated on the left side, while the number of order of the polling station – on the left side. The electoral candidates will be written in the ballots in the order decided by draw, which is made by the relevant electoral authority every day. <\/p>\n

The CEC members were informed about the results of the local elections that took place on May 11, 2008 in Chirca village in Anenii Noi district. According to the vote counting reports, 644 voters out of 1,440 participated in the elections. The turnout was 44.72%. Crangaci Vitalie, the candidate of the Democratic Party of Moldova, polled the largest number of votes – 325. <\/p>\n
