The Liberal Democratic Party from Moldova (PLDM) is “deeply concerned about the amplification of the campaign of destruction of independent mass-media from the Republic of Moldova”, DECA-press transmits. <\/p>\n

A statement of the faction mentions that “after the intimidation of the TV channel „ProTv Chisinau”, the radio station „Vocea Basarabiei”, of the newspapers „Timpul” and „Moldavskie vedomosti”, the structures of the governing power are trying to make silent one of the main and most objective national publications „Jurnal de Chisinau”, which proves to be quite credible and popular among readers”. <\/p>\n

„The confessions about the abuse committed by the elements of the governing coalition, as well as the equidistant and deep analyses of the social-political situation from our country published by the newspaper concerned the power, which loses its popular support on the eve of parliamentary elections”, the cited document says. <\/p>\n

Liberal-democrats consider that “remembering a case recorded five years ago by the Law Court of the Centru sector for the application of distraint on the bank account of the publication is an unusual case which denotes the character of political command of the action”. <\/p>\n

„Thus, the contract obligations of Jurnal de Chisinau towards its readers are in danger, and the society may be deprived of a sure source of operative and impartial information”, the statement mentions. <\/p>\n
