President Vladimir Voronin declared a property estimated to 2.196 mln lei, the biggest among the public officials stated in the income and property statements made public by the Central Control Commission (CCC). The head of state holds two land plots, a house with an orchard in Dubasari, Pirita village, an apartment and a garage in Chisinau, two cars and a motor scooter. <\/p>\n

Minister of Defense Vitalie Vrabie is on the second place. The value of the assets he owns amounts to 1.96 mln lei, among which a house, an apartment and a land plot in Ungheni, an apartment in Chisinau and a car. <\/p>\n

MP Iurie Rosca, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, is on the third place with 1.29 mln lei. The MP has a land plot in Chisinau, a house, a garage and a barn. He is followed by the new Premier Zinaida Grecean[i with 1.23 mln lei that include a land plot, a house in Chisinau and a car. <\/p>\n

Speaker of Parliament Marian Lupu has two apartments in the capital and a car estimated to 151,000 lei. Deputy Speaker Maria Postoico owns real estate and a car estimated to 518,414 lei among which two land plots, an apartment, a villa and a garage. <\/p>\n

Former Premier Vasile Tarlev declared assets estimated to 166,000 lei, among which two land plots, a house and a villa. <\/p>\n

Also, from among the MPs, Anatol Taranu (1.11 mln lei) and Mocan Mihail (1 mln lei) declared their wealth. <\/p>\n

Leader of the Communist Party, Eugenia Ostapciuc, declared assets worth 76,000 lei, Veaceslav Untila 406,800 lei, Vladimir Filat 334,000 lei, Grigore Petrenco 59,500 lei. <\/p>\n

The CCC report remitted to BASA-press Agency does not indicate the assets owned by a number of high officials such as Minister of Education and Youth Victor Tvircun, Deputy Premier Victor Stepaniuc, Minister of Health Ion Ababii, Prosecutor General Valeriu Gurbulea, and some MPs. Although many of them own apartments, houses, land plots, cars, the report lists only the goods they hold with the note that their value is “not estimated". <\/p>\n

According to the Law on declaration and control of revenues and property, the state officials, judges, prosecutors, public servants, and some managerial staff must submit their income and property statements. They are to include in the statement data on the revenues as of date of submission of the statement and on all types of assets, financial commitments, including those of their family members, the share of securities, including of their family members, in the capital of enterprises. <\/p>\n
