Nicolae Andronic, the leader of the Republican People’s Party (PPR), affirms that his faction and he have become the target of a new defamation campaign “through mass-media controlled by the power”. <\/p>\n

On Wednesday, in time of a press conference, he specified that this is the way some recent information of the General Prosecution referring to the discovery of an illicit business with drugs has been presented. The prosecution specified that, in this business, Mircea Vidis, mayor of the village of Tiplesti, Sangerei district, elected on the lists of PPR, is also involved. At the same time, the Prosecution informed that this group is involved in the attempt of murdering the police colonel Ghenadie Cosovan. <\/p>\n

Nicolae Andronic pointed to the political interests of mayor of Tiplesti, as well as on some non-correspondence of the statements of PG and MAI. Before that, the ministry said that the criminal group Malhaz was responsible for the attempt to murder the colonel. <\/p>\n

The leader of PPR also mentioned that the principle of presumption of guilt has been violated in this case. <\/p>\n

„Because, by obeying the presumption of innocence, you cannot accuse anyone of something before the law court takes the final sentence. The General Prosecution didn’t obey this principle. The diffused press release revealed the fact that the aim of this action has a political connotation – compromising PPR and the leader of this faction Nicolae Andronic”, the leader of PPR mentioned. <\/p>\n
