President Vladimir Voronin launched called the heads of states and government of member states of the United Nations Organization to intesify the efforts of combatting international terrorism, DECA-press Agency transmits.
\nVladimir Voronin reminds in the appeal that, in time of the Reunion from September 2005, a final document was adopted, which pointed out some concrete objectives and requirements in order to face the challenges and intimidations of the new millennium.
\nVladimir Voronin mentioned that, till present day, great efforts have been made in term of combating international terrorism. Yet, he said that „the legislative frame of combating terrorism cannot be complete without a director juridical act, and such an act may be only the general Convention on international terrorism, whose project is to be finished soon”.
\n„We reached the moment when the creation of suitable conditions for the adoption of the most important instrument in combating terrorism, upon which we agreed in time of the Summit from 2005, depends mainly on the high responsiblity which we havem as well as the responsibility of the leaders of the member states of UNO and of the political will of all member states. In this context, the current session of the UNO General Assembly offers us a good occasion for reaching the agreement on the project and on the ending of the text of the Convention”, the message says.
