Dumitru Diacov, leader of the Democratic Party from Moldova (PDM), hopes that the Constitutional Court will approve the next weeks the initiative of improving the Constitution which says that he head of the state will not have the right to be member of any political party.
\nHe declared that on Sunday evening, in time of the TV program „VIP Magazin”, broadcast on PRO-TV-Chisinau, DECA-press Agency communicates.
\nThis initiative of modifying the Constitution was elaborated by PDM deputies, but it was signed by deputies from other parliamentary factions too.
\nDumitru Diacov mentioned that the head of the state must not be a political person in order to become a president of everyone. He reminded that in 2005, deputies of PDM issued this condition to president Vladimir Voronin in exchange of the vote for his reelection as president, but this condition hasn’t been fulfilled.
\nThe leader of PDM said that it is important that now, the law project is approved by the Constitutional Court. After that, they will start working to mobilize the deputies to support the initiative.
