On Thursday, the Parliament broke an absolute record for the current legislature – it discussed a law project for nearly 2,5 hours. The deputies mentioned that it is for the first time in the last 3 years when a law project is discussed for so long, DECA-press transmits.
\nThis is a law project which says that the general prosecutor will start the penal investigation of judges without the preliminary agreement of the Senior Council of the Magistracy (SCM), as it is today.
\nDeputies from the majority faction of communists and representatives of the Government tried to convince the opposition for 2,5 hours that the law project would increase the responsibility of judges and will institute a real line of punishing them if necessary. Another argument brought forward by the communists was that nowhere in Europe judges take advantage of so much… immunity.
\nAll this time, the opposition criticized the law project, mentioning that, at present, as a result of its adoption, the level of independence of justice system will decrease. The opposition deputies believe that the real goal of the document is to get the possibility to influence the judges who do not want to cooperate.
