The disproof of the legality of his election as president of the Municipal Council of Chisinau (MCC) has political connotation, Mihai Ghimpu considers.
\nIn his opinion, the arguments of the Ministry of Local Public Administration, which contested the legality of his election at the Court of Appeal, are groundless.
\nThe Ministry asserts that, in the decision of appointment of Mihai Ghimpu as president of MCC, the financial sources for the activity of president of MCC and his body haven’t been indicated. At the same time, the Ministry points out that the function of president of MCC is not mentioned in the Law regarding the status of Chisinau Town.
\nMihai Ghimpu declares that he didn’t spend so far any money from the municipal budget. At the same time, he says that the function of president of MCC is provided in the Law on the local public administration. In his opinion, if MCC hadn’t elected its president, it would have been accused by the Ministry that it didn’t obey the Law regarding the local public administration.
