The president of the republic of Moldova holds power over every domain in the state. This, however, does not correspond to the norms of a democratic state. The Moldovan barrister, Veaceslav Turcan, came to this conclusion after the parliamentary committee refused to examine his proposal to dismiss Vladimir Voronin. The barrister claims that the president interferes in the judicial system and influences it, DECA-press Agency communicates.
\nThe parliamentary committee informed Veaceslav Turcan, that there were no such proposals coming from the part of the MPs. As to the accusation that the president interferes in the judicial system, this case should be examined by the Superior Council of the Magistrature.
\nAccording to the Article 89 from the Moldovan constitution, the president can be dismissed by the Parliament if two thirds of the MPs have voted for it. The same article says that the equal number of MPs can initiate the president’s dismissal.
