The General Prosecution will put in application Voronin’s order given to ISS, regarding the parties and the press „financed illegally from abroad”. This is how the director of the daily publication „Timpul de dimineata”, Constantin Tanase, explains the beginning of the penal investigation on his name and on the name of the other participants at the meeting organized on February 3rd by the Union of Journalists from Moldova, DECA-press transmits.
\nWe remind you that a press release diffused on Monday by the press service of the General Prosecution announced that a penal investigation had been started on the basis of article 346 of the Penal Code by the Prosecution of the capital. According to prosecutors, on February 3rd 2008, in time of the meeting organized by the Union of Journalists from Moldova in the square of the Opera and Ballet Theatre, Constantin Tanase and other participants, called for „national split, as well as for direct limitation of the rights of the representatives of the Russian nation from the Republic of Moldova”.
\n„Their aim is to discredit one of the most important Romanian publications from the Republic of Moldova, and by means of this, the whole independent press and all the independent journalists from the Republic of Moldova – and to accuse Romania of supporting financially xenophobian publications which „start a conflict”. It would be a good topic for Voronin to go once again to Brussels with the complaint against Romania. Another goal is to shotn the mouth of the republican press which is not under the subordination of Voronin’s staff”, Constantin Tanase also declared at the press conference.
\nAccording to Tanase, the actions of the General Prosecution prove that, today, in the Republic of Moldova, the society faces serious and dangerous deviations from democracy and murder of the last signs of political pluralism.
\nConstantin Tanase also said that his statement „Moldova must get read not only of Voronin and communists, but of Russians to” was followed by the phrase „if Moldova will need time to get rid of the Russia’s negative influence, we will continue organizing meetings here for 20 years more”. He confirmed the fact that by saying the word „Russians”, he meant Russia and not the Russian-speakers from the Republic of Moldova.
