The leader of the Republican People’s Party (PPR), Nicolae Andronic, contested the behaviour of the prosecutor Igor Popa, who represents the acusation in a trial which he had been put to for some violations he had committed when he was a prime-deputy-prime-minister (1998-1999), at the General Prosecution.
\n      This fact is mentioned in a press release of the faction, cited by DECA-press Agency.
\n      Nicolae Andronic is dissatisfied with the way he had been previously summonsed to come to the prosecution, which, in his opinion has violated the legislation in effect.
\n      He also asserts that Igor Popa’s behaviour also violates the norms of ethics.
\n      In addition, the leader of PPR is revolted about the fact he was forced to come to the prosecution at the end of the last week, despite the fact that, before that, he wa ready to go there.
\n      Another accusation brought to the prosecutor is that he had violated the principle of presumption of innocence in Nicolae Andronic’s case.
\n      The press release of PPR mentions that Igor Popa gave an interview to the TV channel TV7 on January 24th, in which he declared: „Nicolae Andronic committed the crime when he was still a prime-deputy-prime-minister”. „By means of such affirmations, the presumption of innocence is broken.
