On Sunday evening, in time of a TV program on the TV channel „PRO TV Chisinau”, the presidential ex-councillor Sergiu Mocanu, currently leader of the social-political movement „Actiunea Populara”, denied the gossip according to which president Vladimir Voronin stays behind the faction he is the leader of.
\nHe said that he has never intended to deny these gossips and that he lets those who believe it to convince themselves of the fact they are groundless. The presidential ex-councillor asserts that „at that moment, those who believe this is true will be totally disappointed”.
\nAs DECA-press informs, he didn’t say anything concrete in the context of the idea whether he had left president Vladimir Voronin’s staff by himself or the president dismissed him. Mocanu preferred only to remind that there are different opinions regarding this problem.
\nAt the same time, the ex-councillor showed his trust in the political future of the faction which he had created. According to him, this social-political movement has real chances to exceed the electoral scale of 5% in 2009 and pass to the Parliament. He focuses on the clear political message promote by the faction – the temporary separation of the Transnistrian region of the rest of the territory of Republic of Moldova and Moldova’s accession to European Union without the districts from the left bank of the Nistru river.
