Politicians and analysts can hardly comment on the fact what Vladimir Voronin will do in Moscow at the beginning of the next week. They made these declarations for the newspaper „Timpul de dimineata”, cited by DECA-press Agency.
\nThe president of the Social-Democratic Party, Dumitru Braghis: „as usual, we assist at some actions typical of the governing party, when nobody knows anything before or after the visit”. „That is why, I believe it would absolutely wrong for me to try to predict what this visit will focus on”, he said.
\nThe political analyst, Gheorghe Cojocaru, mentioned that „Voronin has almost nothing to take out of his hand – except for some well-known documents, from the folder of Republic of Moldova’s federalization”. „This is not what interests Kremlin today. The problem of Voronin’s successor is the one which Moscow’s immediate and perspective interest will put the stress on. In case this meeting takes place in Kremlin, it will be a good occasion for Putin to see in what mood the leader from Chisinau is today. And for Voronin, this will be a great occasion to show himself as the favourite personality of Moscow, even if he will have to cheat”, he said.
\nThe president of the Liberal-Democratic Party, Vlad Filat, said that
\n„usually, when Voronin went to Moscow, the discussions proved to focus mainy on the fact that something would happen in the Transnistrian problem”. „This is a sad statement that a problem of national interest is discussed under the table, being deprived of transparency. This time, we also do not know whom the president will meet with, what is he going to discuss about, that is why I will have to make some suppositions in this context”, he mentioned.
\nThe prime-vice-president of „Moldova Noastra” Alliance, Veaceslav Untila, declared that „it is known the fact that Voronin will go to Moscow to take the prize, as a sign of gratitude for the great merits „in consolidating the unit of orthodox nations”.
\n„As far as the meeting with Putin is concerned, we can just suppose what they will discuss about, because Voronin’s working agenda, in such cases, is kept in secret. Voronin will try to prove his lowaylty towards Kremlin, but it is hard to believe that the Russian part will accept to discuss about such an important problem as the Transnistrian conflict is, despite the fact the president would be ready to give up something. Let’s not forget that in Russia, the presidential electoral campaign will start and nobody will risk to discuss such issues now”, he declared.
