The Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova has declared its intention to take an active part in the elections to the Gagauz National Assembly. <\/p>\n

Its leader Vladimir Filat said at a press conference in Infotag on Wednesday that it will be the first examination for the party and the Party hopes to pass it with honors, as its candidates are serious, influential and responsible people. <\/p>\n

He said that the LDPM sent its documents to the Ministry of Justice and hopes to receive the registration certificate before January 25, 2008. <\/p>\n

“We hope that the Ministry of Justice will make no surprise for us, as we fulfilled all the Law provisions. However, if it happens, we shall take all legal measures for preventing the infringement upon our rights, the LDPM Leader said. <\/p>\n

According to his data, the Party numbers more than 20 thousand members. <\/p>\n

…AND DEMANDS TO INTRODUCE RESTRICTIONS ON USING SLOT MACHINES <\/p>\n

Chisinau. The municipal faction of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (LDPM) demands to limit the functioning of automatic playing apparatuses in Chisinau. <\/p>\n

LDPM First Vice-Chairman Alexandru Tanase said that in no country in the world slot machines are placed in such way as in Moldova – on trolleybus stops, near educational establishments. <\/p>\n

In his words, many children spend their money for games instead of buying something to eat for 5 lei. <\/p>\n

The LDPM proposes to limit the working time of establishments with slot machines from 10.00 to 21.00 and to forbid minors to use them. <\/p>\n

“It is not normal, when the owners of these machines earn several thousand lei of profits a day, but they pay daily three lei per machine to the municipal budget”, Tanase said. <\/p>\n
