The Constitutional Court (CC) validated on Thursday the mandate of the deputy of the Party, Dumitru Godoroja, who has become the fifth deputy of the Social Democracy Party.
\nDumitru Godoroja’s case is unique in the history of Republic of Moldova and caused conflicts in the public opinion in the last few months. In 2005, he ran for on the lists of the electoral block „Moldova Democrata”. After that, this block was dissolved, and Godoroja joined the Social Democracy Party.
\nIn summer 2007, a place in the Parliament from BMD remained vacant, after Ion Ciontoloi had been elected president of the district of Causeni. For several months, Serafim Urechean, who conducted BMD since 2005, refused to ask for the validation of Godoroja’s mandate, who was not already from the same party with him. In such conditions, CEC asked CC to validate Godoroja’s mandate without Serafim Urechean’s order.
