The territorial-administrative unit „Gagauz Yeri” from the South of Republic of Moldova will celebrate on Sunday, December 23rd, 13 years since the declaration of autonomy, DECA-press Agency informs.
\nOn this occasion, Comrat – the residence centre of the Gagauzian autonomy – will host a series of events, including festivities, where local officials and representatives of the authorities from Chisinau will participate. An official ceremony will be organized on Sunday, at 10 a.m., at the Cultural House from Comrat.
\nThe law which makes the Gagauzian region an autonomy was adopted by the Parliament from Chisinau on December 23rd, 1994. Gagauzia is a territorial autonomy with a special status, and it is a form of selfdetermination of gagauzians. The Governor (Baskan) is an supreme official person of Gagauzian.
