A NATO informing and documentation Office was inaugurated, on Thursday, in Cahul, at the State University from Cahul, DECA-press transmits.
\nThe Office from Cahul was inaugurated by the NATO Informing and Documentation Centre (IDC) from Republic of Moldova, open this autumn in Chisinau.
\nThe responsible for mass-media relations at IDC NATO, Natalia Spanu, says that, by opening this Office, the organizers intend to inform the academic staff, the representatives of the local public administration and the civil society about the goals, role, the institutions and the mechanisms of functioning of the North-Atlantic Alliance and the cooperation instruments of Republic of Moldova with NATO.
\nThe informing office from Cahul has a library with almost one thousand books and publications.
\nAt the inauguration ceremony of the Informing and Documentation Office from Cahul, there was no representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration present, despite the fact they had been invited.
\nThe North-Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was founded in 1949 and aims at insuring the collective defence of its members.
