On Tuesday, the Constitutional Court (CC) releaved the Government in the trial started at the requirement of the social-liberal deputy, Igor Klipii. He contested the constitutional character of the Decision of the Government by means of which the number of places in private institutions of education in 2007 was decreased by 17,2%, DECA-press informs.
\nThe deputy considers that the Government tried to comprimise the university autonomy, and interfere with the citizens’ freedom of choice of the field of professional training, violated the principle of free competition by discriminating private institutions of education in comparison with the state ones.
\nCC considered well-founded the Government’s arguments according to which the educational field is a national priority and the Government had the right to take legal measures for adopting the process of preparation of specialists according to the demand on the labour market in the country.
\nThe Court decided that the establishment of the quota of admission cannot be considered as a violation of the university autonomy, because this one denotes the freedom of the university to select the candidates. \/\/ DECA-Press<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
