The Cabinet of Ministers approved on Thursday, October 24 the list of those seven sector groups to draw up measures on the Transnistrian conflict settlement. <\/p>\n

In line with the decision, the experts in those seven groups are draw up and implement projects in the domain of infrastructure, to resume functioning of the Moldovan railway station, to widen the services in the health care and social protection spheres of the population on the left bank of the Dniester river, to improve the educational institutions in Transnistria, to create conditions for the economic and commercial activity, to bolster the stability and to ensure the free circulation, the demilitarization and disarming of the security zone and to offer humanitarian aid. <\/p>\n

The work groups, including the participation of Transnistrian representatives, are to draw up plans of actions within a month. If necessary, the groups are to involve experts within the public administration. <\/p>\n

Minister of Reintegration Vasile Sova stated at the end of the meeting that the groups had been created in order to implement effectively the initiative of President Vladimir Voronin. "The groups are to function in order to bolster the confidence and the security of the Transnistrian inhabitants." Sova added. <\/p>\n

In early October, 2007, the President made public a set of measures meant to settle the Transnistrian conflict among which: to reduce the peace-keeping forces and checkpoints on the Moldovan-Transnistrian border, to open a bridge on the Dniester River, in Gura-Bacului, to exploit the Chisinau-Tiraspol-Odessa road, to re-establish the railway for common-use, to create a single TV channel and to accreditate the Transnistrian university at the Moldovan Ministry of Education. \/\/ BASA-Press<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
