President Vladimir Voronin, Premier Vasile Tarlev and Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca are the public personalities Moldovans have most confidence in, the Social and Political Barometer in August 2007, carried out by the Institute of Marketing and Polls IMAS-Inc Chisinau has attested. <\/p>\n

Vladimir Voronin keeps the leading position. He was voted by 43% of the respondents. Voronin is followed by Vasile Tarlev with 35%. 30 per cent of the respondents have confidence in Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca. Marian Lupu and Serafim Urechean lost their positions, 28 per cent and 21 per cent, accordingly of the interrogated people opted for them. Dumitru Braghis was voted by 17%, Oleg Serebrian by 11%, and Iurie Rosca – by 10 per cent of those questioned. <\/p>\n

\"\"The poll has shown that 56 per cent of the Moldovan citizens are willing to attend the Parliamentary elections, and each second of them (about 49%) would vote for the Communist Party. The latter is followed by the Our Moldova Alliance with 19 per cent, the liberal Party with 9%, followed by the Democratic Party at an interval of one per cent. For the Christian Popular Party 3% of electorate would give their votes. <\/p>\n

In line with the poll, the institutions which enjoy the confidence of the population are the church (78%), the city hall (61%) and the mass-media (59%). The least trustworthy institutions turned to be the police, the trade unions and the political parties. <\/p>\n
