Two Moldovan policemen were arrested on the left bank of the Nistru by the employees of Fighting Organized Crime Department under the secessionist Transnistrian administration. <\/p>\n

Valeriu Prudnicov, commissar of Bender city, communicated for BASA-press that lieutenant general Igor Nicolenco and lieutenant Eugen Caraiman had been arrested on their way to work. The latter managed to announce by telephone his administration about his arrest. The attempts of Moldovan officials to find out what served as reason to arrest them and the place where they are kept failed. Militia representatives did not inform in writing about this arrest and avoid discussing with Moldovan policemen. <\/p>\n

Prudnicov also noted that militia may manufacture a criminal case against the two, and his interventions are inefficient as long as militia refuses to confirm the arrest of the two policemen. He also said that he informed the Joint Control Commission and the OSCE mission about the incident. <\/p>\n

The arrest of policemen happened only three days after the conflict between the Transnistrian militia and Moldovan police on Cocieri-Dubasari road. <\/p>\n
