The Commonwealth of Independent States’ efficiency will depend on putting into practice the agreement on the free change trade between the member-countries, the participants in a meeting of the CIS government heads in Minsk have said. <\/p>\n

Moldovan Premier Vasile Tarlev told an interview given to the press today that on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the CIS formation, the meeting was focused on summing up the organisation’s activity and on setting the future goals. <\/p>\n

The participants in the summit debated about 30 issues, of which the organisation’s budget and its development strategy etc. <\/p>\n

The delegation’s members said that while setting up the CIS, the hopes have been great, but except for the successful results, more and more objections could be. Among them are the issues related to the work of transport, including the railway, collaboration in the energy sector, existence of frozen conflicts. <\/p>\n

\"\"Tarlev pointed out that the government heads prepared many issues, which are to be considered within the presidents’ summit, due in Minsk on 28 November 2006. Following an initiative by Moldova, a special subject is to be setting up a free trade zone for all the states. Earlier, representatives of the member-countries have proposed this zone to be arranged in Moscow, on the territory of former EREN, where each country can set a pavilion. <\/p>\n

The Moldovan premier also said that during the meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Viktor Yanukovich, they tackled the organisation of meetings at the deputy premiers’ level the next week, in order to debate the problem focused on trains’ circulation on Moghiliov-Podolsk and Ocnita road, issues related to the Moldovan-Ukrainian border security etc. <\/p>\n

Vasile Tarlev also said that during the meeting with Russian Premier Mikhail Fradkov, they agreed that bilateral meetings focused on issues existing between the two countries will be organized as soon as possible.
