Moldovan Prime minister Vasile Tarlev today signed in Bucharest the Charter of relations of good neighbouring, stability, security and cooperation in South-East Europe. The Charter represents the document of reference of the activity of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP), according to the special envoy of MOLDPRES to Romania. <\/p>\n

In his press statement, made after signing the document, the Moldovan premier said that the status of SEECP’s full-fledged member will essentially contribute to adjusting Moldova to the European standards, and its advancement in the process of European integration. <\/p>\n

Tarlev reiterated that Moldova has clearly and irreversibly set its goal of joining the European Union (EU). The policy of Moldova’s European integration is based on turning to account all the opportunities offered by the European Neighbourhood Policy through the successful implementation of the EU Action Plan for Moldova, and exploring possibilities offered by the participation in initiatives and regional processes in the South-Eastern Europe. <\/p>\n

Romanian Prime Minister Calin Popescu-Tariceanu said, after Moldova signed the SEECP’s Charter, that Moldova’s inclusion in the SEECP constituted one of Romania’s main co-ordinates within its mandate of SEECP chairman that Romania has held earlier. <\/p>\n

"The document’s signing proves Romania’s concern for Moldova’s European future, and Romania’s commitment to reinforce the relations between Moldova and the EU," the Romanian premier said. <\/p>\n

Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Damir Polancec also participated in the ceremony of signing the charter on good neighbourly relations, stability, security and cooperation in South-Eastern Europe. Croatia holds at present the SEECP’s chairmanship and has actively backed Moldova’s inclusion into the SEECP. <\/p>\n
