Romania shall be standing for admitting the Republic of Moldova and Balkan states to the European Union, Romanian President Traian Basescu has stated in his interview with the EuroNews channel cast on Sunday. <\/p>\n

Concerning the accession of Romania and Bulgaria to the European Union, President Basescu remarked the EU will thus enlarge towards the Black Sea, so will have to partake in the solution of the problems the region comes across. These problems will become issues of the European Union’s external policy, including the 4 frozen conflicts [Transnistria, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, and Nagorny Karabakh] that continue to be a source of instability in the Black Sea region. He said these conflict zones generate, in particular, the problem of illegal trade in arms and narcotic drugs. <\/p>\n
