The overwhelming majority of residents of unrecognized republic of Transnistria voted for independence and following joining with Russia. According to early returns, during the referendum held on September 17, the concept was supported by 97.1% of constituents. Only 3.4% of the citizens were for joining Moldova. <\/p>\n
