RM foreign Minister Nicolae Tabacaru, who is currently on an official visit to London, had a meeting with British foreign minister Robin Cook on May 12. In the course of this meeting they considered issues related to Moldovan-British bilateral relations, ways for Moldova’s integration into the European structures. <\/p>\n

The head of the British diplomacy assured the Moldovan side that "Great Britain is Moldova’s friend. The relations between our countries were estimated as very good and considerably invigorated lately. An intention by Vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Joyce Quin to visit the Republic of Moldova was met with satisfaction. <\/p>\n

Nicolae Tabacaru handed Petru Lucinschi’s message, addressed to British Premier Tony Blair and containing a request to include the republic of Moldova among the member countries of the Pact on Stability in the Southeastern Europe. <\/p>\n

Minister Tabacaru expressed hope that Great Britain would support Moldova’s request to join the Raymont Protocol of the Initiative of the European Union for Southeastern Europe and provided weighty arguments in favor of this decision. <\/p>\n

Moldovan Minister thanked Robin Cook for his invitation to visit Great Britain and in his turn he invited him to visit Moldova at any convenience. <\/p>\n
