Using his right, Moldova’s President Petru Lucinschi, has effected turnarounds in the administration of two law enforcement ministries, INTERLIC News agency reports. <\/p>\n

As President’s Press Secretary Anatol Golea communicated to the INTERLIC reporter, the main reason was Tudor Botnaru’s personal request for his resignation from the position of the Minister of National Security. The Press Secretary did not explain the reason for his resignation. <\/p>\n

The chair of the Minister of National Security was passed over to Valeriu Pasat, who had headed the Defense Ministry before. In compliance with a presidential decree the National Defense was passed over to Boris Gamurari who headed the Customs Examination Department in Ion Ciubuc’s government. <\/p>\n

These are the first turnarounds in Ion Sturza’s government. All the government members are nominated by the parliament. However, the head of the government has a prerogative to offer his own candidates for the heads of the law enforcement ministers. Besides he has the right to remove ministers as it happened to Tudor Leanca, whose performance was inefficient in the Ministry of Transport and Communication. <\/p>\n

The new ministers are distinguished by their political impartiality, as they should be in occupying such posts. Valeriu Pasat and Boris Gamurari are well-known figures in the republic.
