Moldova’s President Petru Lucinschi accepted credentials from Ambassadors of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden Sigurd Jakobsson, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Christofer Donald Crebbie, of Georgia Malkhaza Chachava with their residences in Kiev, Bucharest and in Kiev accordingly, INTERLIC News agency reports with reference to the presidential press service. <\/p>\n

At the meeting with Sigurd Jakobsson President Petr Lucinschi has noted that Moldova is interested in the deepening of various bilateral relations with Sweden, which is one of the donor countries for our republic, According to him, the trade exchange can be expanded by Sweden’s participation in the development of small business in Moldova, in setting up joint ventures. The Swedish diplomat has expressed the readiness of his country to foster the solution of the problems, faced by Moldova during the transition period and noted at the same time that Sweden has a special program for support of the countries of the South-Eastern Europe in the promotion of reforms. <\/p>\n

The confabulation with Donald Crabbie has been mainly related to Moldova’s integration into the European structures and in this connection President Petru Lucinschi has expressed a request that the Great Britain should support our country’s efforts to become an associated member of the European Union. The British diplomat has underlined that Great Britain will support these efforts in the frames of the international entities and will make concrete steps for the invigoration of mutually advantageous ties with the Republic of Moldova. As Crabbie has cleared up, three groups of experts from the British Embassy to Bucharest are currently studying in Chisinau the options of bilateral cooperation with our country. <\/p>\n

Proceeding from the traditions of friendship between the peoples of our two countries, Petru Lucinschi has stated in the confabulation with Malkhaz Chachava that there are real opportunities for the development and deepening of relations between Moldova and Georgia on a multipronged basis. Thereto the head of the state underscored the importance of the implementation of the project for transportation of oil from the Caspian basin.
