The sitting of the Ministers of the South-Eastern Cooperation Initiative (SECI) member countries, where the Moldovan delegation, headed by Minister of Transport and Communication, Victor Cheibas participated, took place in the Creek capital – Athens, INTERLIC News agency reports with reference to the press service of the RM Ministry for Transport and Communication. <\/p>\n

The sitting resulted in the signing of the Memorandum Agreement to ease the transportation of goods on the SECI countries, including alongside with Moldova Albania, Turkey, Greece, Romania, Hungary, Macedonia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina. <\/p>\n

The document, in particular, envisages to bring the process of transportation in line with the norms and standards of the European Union and to remove all the barriers to the transportation of cargoes through the SECI countries in order to increase their volumes. <\/p>\n

As the Minister of Transport and Communication states, by signing this Memorandum the Republic of Moldova made one more step towards the integration into the European Union and opened for it a number perspectives in increasing cargo transportations, which bring additional profit for the country. <\/p>\n

According to the quoted source, the RM delegations had a number of working meetings with its colleagues from Romania, Macedonia, Turkey and Greece in the course of the sitting.
