On July 22, Transdnestr Foreign Ministry released comment of spokesman for the Transdnestr foreign ministry Vitaly Ignatyev on the resolution of the Georgian parliament concerning withdrawal of the Russian peacekeepers. <\/p>\n

As a REGNUM correspondent reports, Ignatyev’s statement runs: “Aggravation of tension around the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of South Ossetia, which are friendly to us, causes serious concern. We believe that dangerous trends are increasing in activities of the Georgian leadership, and abrupt, ill-considered steps do not promote peaceful dialog, the only alternative to which is another escalation of tension right up to an armed conflict.” <\/p>\n

“Transdnestr is sure that the traditionally well-considered, clear-cut position of Russian, Abkhaz and South Ossetian leadership will help unblock the current situation.
