On July 22, political analyst, head of the Fund for Effective Policy Gleb Pavlovsky read a lecture at Seliger 2006 Patriotic Educational Sports and Tourism Youth Camp. After a short opening address Pavlovsky proposed to the youth to ask him questions to make the dispute more constructive and commented on all the problems of interest for the young people, a REGNUM correspondent reports. <\/p>\n

A member of Proryv! (Breakthrough) International Youth Corporation from Transdnestr asked the political analyst how Russian foreign policy towards unrecognized states would be determined: “In this case I am interested in your own opinion about Transdnestr. As polls have shown, over 90% of Transdnestr population are oriented towards Russia. Moreover, on September 17, a referendum will be held concerning status of our country, one of the questions in it will be independence of the republic and possible further joining the Russian Federation.” <\/p>\n

Gleb Pavlovsky noted that “Russia would further help Transdnestr and support this state.” The head of the Fund of Effective Policy said that at first the Transdnestr people should determine their opinion at a referendum, and then one would have a chance to speak about joining the Russian Federation. Pavlovsky added that nothing can be said definitely until results of the referendum are announced, but he noted that Moldova, in his opinion, is “unable to annex anybody.” <\/p>\n
