Independent Deputy Oleg Serebrian has notified the Prosecutor-General’s Office in connection with situation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, which violates the law on diplomatic service. <\/p>\n

Serebrian probed his accusations with examples of Moldovan diplomats assigned from a mission to another mission without working in Chisinau at least one year. In the context, he reminded that Victor Zlacevschi, former ambassador of Moldova to Romania, was appointed as state minister in the diplomatic mission in Moscow immediately after being recalled from Bucharest. "None of former ambassadors have returned to Chisinau after their mandates. Such cases are not registered in other countries of the world. Why to assign diplomats to other countries if they are so unprepared that they are a burden for own ministry? The cost of maintaining diplomatic missions is high while their efficiency is zero," Serebrian noted. <\/p>\n

Also, he was indignant with how diplomatic rankings are awarded to ministerial functionaries. He noted that many technical employees have arbitrarily received diplomatic rankings. <\/p>\n

According to Serebrian, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration has given informal answers to his interpellations, while his request to hear the minister at a plenary sitting was turned down. "We have an impression that the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration follows the adage "dogs bark, but the caravan rolls on." I was told that all speak French, English, Spanish or Italian well when I have asked what international languages the Moldovan diplomats speak. But I would like to know what language Zlacevschi speaks," Serebrian added. <\/p>\n

In the context, the lawmaker demanded the creation of a special parliamentary commission to examine the situation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. <\/p>\n
